Jenny is comfortable singing in many different styles – from contemporary to classical, to traditional and jazz. She can offer you and wide repertoire of music which means whether you are having a religious or civil ceremony, you have a wealth of songs at your fingertips. She can perform in English, Irish, Italian, Latin and French.
Jenny’s formal training was as a classical vocalist, a mezzo-soprano and has the vocal range to tackle any songs you may have in mind for your ceremony, no matter what your preferred style – anything from Adele to Ave Maria!
Jenny originally trained in both vocal technique and piano in the Wexford School of Music. As a youngster she performed in various shows and events as part of the Wexford Opera Festival in her hometown, while also developing a proficiency in playing piano by ear. Having left school and moved to Galway in 1995 to complete a Fine Art degree, Jenny quickly became immersed in the Galway Arts and Music scene. Gigging professionally and adding to her repertoire since the age of seventeen, she is equally able to perform classical arias, or improvise in a less formal setting, firing out well-known pop songs and standards.
She performed with the Galway Baroque Singers and has been an active part of the Galway music scene and national wedding industry for many years, playing both solo gigs, piano residencies, and with bands. Her involvement with original projects extends to recording, arrangement, and also qualifying twice as a finalist in a national radio competition, “Beat the Original” on Today FM.
She supported The Waterboys as part of an original duo with singer/songwriter Stacey Nolan, and has also recently performed as a piano accompanist for the Scoil Chaithriona Renmore’s Sign & Sing choir in the National Concert Hall, Dubin. As part of the Cuirt International Literature festival, Jenny composed, arranged and performed the piano soundtrack to the theatre piece “Imagining Nora”.
She is also founder band member of the long-established PLAY night in Galway city centre, which is a unique open-mic platform encouraging and accompanying young, original and new singer/songwriters and performers.
As well as an accomplished performer, Jenny teaches piano and holds a qualification in sound engineering.
